Delivering stable resource operation to Thailand’s Metropolitan Electricity Authority
Background & Objective
In order to establish a DR market in Bangkok, it was necessary to develop and verify a benchmarking-based system for market design and operation verification. With EIPGRID’s customized references based on DR market operating rules by country and know-how, the project was expected to deliver stable resource operation and management for Thailand’s Metropolitan Electricity Authority.
The main objective of this project was to verify the DR operation/management system in order to verify participation/operation in Thailand's DR market in the Bangkok area.
Results
Developed a Demand Response Management System for Thailand MEA and tested OpenADR 2.0b based DR system for the Bangkok region.
- Understanding the MEA's DR market and designing and verifying the DR system
- Verified the OpenADR 2.0b communication-based DR operation
- Designed and verified the DR event creation/implementation/operation structure
